Sixth Form Student Leadership Team

Our Sixth Form Leadership Team act as role models and ambassadors for the school, and work closely with senior leadership to support the whole school.

Student leadership roles are designed to give Sixth Form students an opportunity to step up and take on additional responsibilities. They meet with the Head of Sixth Form to discuss implementations that can benefit the Sixth Form and the wider school. Students can sign up to be a student leader in Year 12, and will go through an interview process before selection; this is an excellent addition to a students' personal statement.

Our main focus around the school is centred around improving integration between the Sixth Form and the wider student body. This means we will be promoting opportunities like Sixth Form teaching assistants; sports programmes run by Sixth Form students; and Sixth Form subject ambassador events. These opportunities will develop subject and sports skills, as well as be a fun way to learn and explore.

We also hope to bring wider and more robust support for SEND students. This means improving general SEND education (which may involve learning about what struggles SEND students experience, how to support them and how to recognise when they may be struggling) and improving SEND access - such as the promotion of quiet spaces and outdoor activities.

Additionally, for the older years, we are looking to introduce more further education experiences. This may include teacher presentations - where teachers will share their experiences and knowledge that they received from attaining a degree. This allows teachers the opportunity to talk about their interests outside of the curriculum, as well as give you some insight into further education.
