Road Safety on School Grounds – New Road Markings

 

As you are aware we have been trialling a new system for entry and exit from the car park. Thank you to all parents and students. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and based on this we have made some slight adjustments which are included below.

 

The new road markings clearly define designated lanes for drop off and pick up during peak times to help manage vehicle movement effectively. Both lanes can be used for dropping off and picking up at peak times. We kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to the following guidelines:

 

Stay in Your Lane: Please ensure that you always remain within the designated lane while on school grounds. This will help maintain a smooth and orderly flow of traffic.

 

No Overtaking: Once you have dropped off or picked up your child(ren), we ask that you do not attempt to overtake other vehicles. Waiting in turn for your lane to clear ensures safety for pedestrians and other drivers. Please don’t attempt to use space in the middle and sides of each lane to go around cars. The space is for pedestrians to exit vehicles in each lane. We have had an accident and several near misses because of drivers overtaking.

 

Follow Directions: signage and new road markings must be adhered to. Our staff members are present to guide traffic and assist with ensuring everyone’s safety. Please follow their instructions carefully.

 

By working together and respecting these new measures, we can create a safer environment for everyone in our school community.
